Municipal Transfer Replacement Tax Return (Last Update: 1/2008)

City Chief Financial Officer This type of filing is required under Iowa tax law, but the filing is not required to be on this suggested form.  Link to the latest Transfer Tax rates.

Grain Bin Notification (Last Update: 2/2008)

Iowa Utilities Board Iowa electric utilities are required to notify customers involved in potential grain bin construction of specific overhead line clearances that must be adhered to when constructing grain bins.  This is an annual requirement from the Iowa Utilities Board.  The typical time to do the notification is during the fall or spring.  See the IAMU handout for more information.

EIA-906, Power Plant Report  (scroll down to appropriate form) (Last Update: 4/08/2008)

(The EIA-906 report will be replaced with the EIA-923.  The new form will not be due on March 1 this year, but will be due May 15, 2008 (see May on the calendar).  Access to the new form is NOW available as of April 7, 2008!)

Statewide Property Tax Return (Last Update: 1/2008)

Iowa Department of Revenue Required for all municipal electric utilities that own taxable property.  Note: if the end tax comes to less than $1, you are not required to pay it.

Annual Report Municipal Electric Plant and Operations (ME-1) (Last Update: 1/2008)

Iowa Utilities Board

Required for all municipal electric utilities.  NOTE: You can type answers into this electronic file, but you need to submit a printed hardcopy of answers to the Iowa Utilities Board, in addition to the cardstock ME-1 cover that received in the mail from the Iowa Utilities Board (this cover contains the utility's official name and the official Records Center number).  Both of these figures are needed in order for the Iowa Utilities Board to process an ME-1 form.

FERC Form 715, Annual Transmission Planning and Evaluation Report (Last Update: 3/2006)

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

Required for any transmitting utility that operates integrated (non-radial) transmission facilities at or above 100 kV.  Note: some utilities submit this to MAPP or MRO, who may have different internal due dates for this work.

EIA-767, Steam-Electric Plant Operation and Design Report (scroll down to appropriate form)   (Last Update: 1/2008)

(The EIA-767 report has been suspended by EIA, and will be replaced by the EIA-860).

Energy Information Administration

A Form EIA-767 must be filed for every existing, under-construction, or planned U.S. organic-fueled or combustible renewable steam-electric generating plant with a nameplate capacity of 10 or more megawatts regardless of current ownership and/or operation.

By IUB order, due August 29, 2008 for the following electric utilities only:

Algona, Ames, Atlantic, Cedar Falls, Denison, Greenfield, Harlan, Independence, Indianola, Maquoketa, Montezuma, Muscatine, Osage, Pella, Pocahontas, Spencer, Waverly, Webster City, West Point, Woodbine

Note: IAMU encourages all utilities to submit plans as records of their demand-side management accomplishments.  Please contact IAMU for more information.  This form also used by many utilities with WAPA contracts as their Minimum Investment Report or Integrated Resource Planning annual report; more information.  IAMU is working with WAPA to account for this new change in 2008.

2008 Estimated Replacement Taxes  (Last Update: 9/2008) Iowa Department of Revenue

Required if one of four situations apply to a municipal utility.  If none of the situations apply, the utility does not need to complete the form.  See form for the applicable situations - IAMU has discontinued reminders for this form because it only applies to a few utilities.
