Iowa Energizer Bulletin

Iowa Energizer Bulletin is a way for your utility to share information with customers without adding to your workload. Four times a year, an issue of the Iowa Energizer is customized for your utility. It features your utility's name and address in a stylized logo at the top and news of utility or community events on the front page. Inside pages of each Iowa Energizer carries up-to-date information on energy efficiency for residential applications.

Who does the work?

Once your utility joins the Iowa Energizer subscription service, you will receive a phone call every three months from our Energizer reporter. She will interview your utility's contact person for details of utility news. These details will be developed into a front page story that will be of special interest to your utility customers.

What exactly is "utility news"?

The ideas for stories from your utility are endless, but activities involving energy efficiency are at the top of the list. The Iowa Energizer is an ideal way to publicize new programs on energy efficiency. But other information about your utility will also be of interest to customers. Rate information, election of board or council members, services your utility provides to other city departments – all qualify as possible topics for front page stories. Our Energizer reporter can assist your contact person in developing story ideas.

What does the Iowa Energizer look like?

A sample Iowa Energizer is can be sent to you at your request. The front page will carry your utility name and address and a feature story. Inside will be a variety of easy-reading energy efficiency articles.

Why should we subscribe to the Iowa Energizer service?

The Iowa Energy Bill, SF2401, requires that all electric and gas utilities become active in energy efficiency. An energy newsletter is a great way to communicate with customers and increase their awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency. It also demonstrates your utility's commitment to promoting energy efficiency in your community.

How do we subscribe?

At your request we can send you a sample newsletter and a subscription form. Complete the subscription form and mail to IAMU. You'll soon receive your first call from our IAMU reporter to initiate planning for your premier issue. You are under no obligation to continue receiving the Iowa Energizer. You may cancel at any time prior to the preparation of your local news story.
